To log in to the Manager program, Locate the WinMGR.exe file, and Double-click on it.

Or setup a shortcut icon on your desktop in the conventional Windows 95 manner, and Double-click on it.

Login Shield

When the Manager begins the WinMGR Login shield shown in the figure below will appear.

To log in,

• Type in your UserId and Password in the appropriate blanks.

Then, decide whether you want review the Setup of the current configuration. Normally, this is an exceptional path through the Manager application used to review and edit the configuration and setup of the databases and instruments.

To view the current setup,

• Check the Show Setup checkbox.

To skip the current setup review and begin editing the instruments and modules,

• Leave the Show Setup checkbox blank.

• Click on the Login button or press <Enter>.

Next Step

If you checked the Show Setup checkbox during login, the Manager will open to the WinMgr Startup window and you will be able to review the Manager configuration (local vs. network, drive, directory, etc.) and perform a variety of database functions from a global perspective.

If you did not check the Show Setup checkbox during login, the Manager will open immediately to the Main Menu window and display it either Tree View mode (default for versions after 2.2.22) or Tabbed Function mode (default for versions 2.2.22 and earlier) depending on the preferences set by the user in the Preferences window. (See, Setup function, Preferences window, Interface field.) Both of these display modes are a direct path to the design/edit functions that allow the user to begin working with the instruments.
